Real Housewives of New York City to Return with a Recast and a New Show with Previous Cast Members

The beloved Bravo series that has been on hiatus is officially coming back with a new cast and a completely new show.

The Real Housewives of New York City is officially coming back! After months of waiting for news of a new season, Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen announced on March 23 that the show is coming back for season 14 after a delayed start. Cohen exclusively spoke with Variety telling them all of the updates being made to the series.

The most notable announcement from the interview is that there will now be two Real Housewives of New York City shows. The first is season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York City which will be rebooted and recast. Cohen told Variety, "we are searching for a multicultural group of friends who really best reflect the most exciting city in the country. We’re looking for a group of women who are real friends, and who are of diverse backgrounds, races and religions." Along with the original show, Cohen also announced that there will be a new show with a working title (RHONY: Throwback or RHONY: Legacy) featuring housewives of New York City from previous seasons of the show.

The news of the reboot and new show comes after about seven months of waiting for news on season 14 of the series. Season 13, which premiered in May 2021 and concluded in September 2021, received record-breaking low ratings as well as being the first franchise ever to not end the season with the anticipated reunion sit-down.

While no cast for season 14 or for the new series have been decided as of now, rumors of who would be staying and who would be asked to leave have been swirling around social media for months. It looks like we may have to wait a little longer before any cast reveal will be announced.

The Real Housewives of New York City season 14 is rumored to begin filming within the next couple of months with a 2023 premiere date.
